OWA KORA Wildlife Conservation e.V. protects 2,500 hectares of unfenced wilderness on the edge of Khaudum National Park — one of the last intact ecosystems in Southern Africa.
the land
Our land sits directly on the southern boundary of Khaudum National Park in the Kavango East region of northern Namibia. No fence separates our property from the park — wildlife moves freely across the boundary as it always has.
The landscape is Kalahari sandveld: flat, ancient, covered in silver terminalia and Zambezi teak. The Omuramba — dry riverbeds that fill seasonally — cross our land and connect water sources used by elephants on multi-day migrations.

Each well costs €15,000 and serves wildlife and community for decades. 5 wells funded, 5 more as our next target.

Daily and nightly patrols with trained, licensed rangers. Intelligence shared with Namibian Wildlife Ministry.

Camera trap networks, GPS-tracked water points, species counts. Field data contributes to national databases.

Clearing invasive species, maintaining fire breaks, reseeding degraded areas. Long-term compound work.
community
We work alongside the Mpareke family and community on shared land management and shared benefit.

Education weeks bring young people into direct contact with conservation. Knowledge is the longest-lasting protection.
the wells programme
In Khaudum, the dry season lasts eight months. Wildlife concentrates around water points — whoever controls water, controls the land. Our well programme is our single highest-impact activity.
Drilling, casing, pump installation. Lifetime 20–40 years.
Phase 1 target: 10 wells covering the eastern sector and Omuramba corridor.
Animals using each well point per dry season, based on camera trap counts.
