The OWA KORA eco-lodge is the commercial engine behind the conservation project. Operated as a Pty Ltd in Namibia, it creates local employment and generates revenue that sustains our long-term work on the land.
the concept
A maximum of 12 guests at any time. No mass tourism. Activities designed around real conservation — tracking with rangers, monitoring water points, visiting community partners. Not scripted game drives.
A percentage of every booking goes directly to the e.V. conservation fund. Guests know exactly what their stay contributes to: wells, rangers, community projects. This transparency is part of the product.
stay
Open-sided, solar-powered, composting. Designed by Studio F.
food
All meals over fire. Local ingredients, community partnerships.
activity
Guided by the same rangers as our conservation programme.
why khaudum
Khaudum National Park receives fewer than 2,000 visitors per year. No tarred roads, no lodges inside the park boundary, no mobile signal. Our lodge is positioned at its edge — accessible enough to reach, remote enough to matter.
market
No other commercial lodge operates in the direct Khaudum area. Exclusivity that cannot be replicated elsewhere in Southern Africa.
growth
High-end eco-tourism in Southern Africa grew 18% year-on-year 2022–2024. Namibia is among the fastest-growing luxury destinations globally.
wildlife
Elephant, lion, leopard, wild dog, sable and roan. Density and diversity comparable lodges in Botswana cannot match at this price point.
access
Rundu airport (250km) connects to Windhoek with daily flights. Private airstrip planned for Phase 3.
story
Guests don’t just witness conservation — they fund it. This is the product modern luxury travellers are actively seeking.

e.V. + Pty structure gives investors both commercial returns AND verified non-profit impact. Strong ESG appeal.

The full deck includes financial projections, market comparisons, site plans and legal structure. We share it within 24 hours.
They are fully separate legal entities. The e.V. is a German non-profit with no commercial activity. The Pty Ltd is a Namibian commercial company with equity investors and dividend distribution. They share a brand and physical location but have entirely separate finances.
François van Zyl serves as Field Director. A dedicated lodge manager will be hired for opening (Q4 2027). Michael Kanke manages financial oversight from Germany. Investors receive quarterly reports and annual audited accounts.
As with any early-stage hospitality investment in a remote location, risks include construction delays, currency fluctuation (NAD/EUR), lower-than-projected occupancy in year 1, and operational events. Our investor deck includes a detailed risk section and downside scenario modelling.
